Be sure to read reviews from current users.  Learn about the development and manufacturing of the different brands.  Measure your car and realistically determine what will fit in the space available.  Remember to include any other car seats or passengers that must share the backseat of your vehicle.

Learn about the installation of the different seats as well as how to properly restrain your child in them.  Take note of the materials used and the safety features designed into the seat.
